New Events for 2016!

Teachers Only Sport’s Day – 5th August – Black Heath High School, London

Why should the kids have all the fun? Once a year, after we’ve had a week to settle into the Summer Holidays proper, we organise our own little Sport’s Day.

Of course, our Sports Days tend to be a little more raucous than the average School based one. There’ll be a fully licensed bar, music, food vans and plenty of competitions to sign up for – egg and spoons at the ready!

Summer BBQ – 19th August – The Greenman, Fownhope, Herefordshire

Our annual Summer BBQs have now become legendary. Once more we’re holding it at The Greenman, a wonderful pub in Herefordshire that has the best pub garden in the UK.

The pub will be firing up their massive BBQ once more and treating us to the best burgers, hot dogs and kebabs that you could ever want. The pints will flow and the sun will shine (hopefully!), so don’t miss out!

Technology Talk – 26th August – Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh

Before you get dragged back into the nightmare that is the first week of the Winter Term, take a trip up to Scotland and get clued up on the Technological developments that will help you teach better.

This is a wonderful venue, where we always host the most informed speakers. Bring pen and paper, and prepare to get clued up on what technology will transform your teaching this school year.

The English UK Teachers’ Conference 2016 – 12th November – Prospero House, London

Specifically for English practitioners, this conference comes at a hefty price, as it’s not run by us. However, it makes this list because it is simple indispensable when it comes to giving you the low down on the best new language teaching techniques.

Yes, we know your weekends are precious, but this one that you really shouldn’t miss. Talk to your Heads of Department about getting you in to this year’s conference and your students will reap the dividends.

Christmas Panto – 10th December – Bristol Hippodrome, Bristol

Why should the kids have all the fun at Christmas? Pantomimes may be mostly aimed at children now, but there’s no reason we can’t enjoy them as well (especially if we have a little lubrication to get us in the mood).

Cinderella this year will be performed at Bristol’s grand theatre, with ice-skating icons Torvill & Dean topping the bill. The traditional bar crawl will of course be held beforehand so that we’re all in the mood for some audience participation come curtain call.
